The word love, in its primary biblical root form, is a verb before it is a noun. Love is first something that we do, before it is something that we feel. In the Wesleyan tradition, we believe it is important to translate faith into loving action. Faith without works is dead. We view the Christian life as a dynamic journey rooted in a faith that works by love, leading to holiness of heart and life—active love of God and neighbor.

TLDR: Pumpkins are arriving today. We are celebrating you this Sunday and Charge Conference is Saturday.
The pumpkins are arriving and the patch is about to be open. If you have some spare time come volunteer in the patch. It is a great way to meet our neighbors. They consider this ’their’ pumpkin patch and we see familiar faces each year. Volunteering is a great way to meet our neighbors in a loving way as we support ministries we love.
The charge conference is this Saturday at First UMC Jax at 9:15. It is open to everyone at the church.
Sunday after worship we are going to celebrate all the great things we have done in 2024. I want to celebrate everyone who has volunteered at the church, those who have served on a committee, everyone who has prayed for River of Life this year and especially those who have supported us and our ministries financially. Without each one of you we can’t make a difference in our community. Join us for lunch on Sunday as we show our appreciation.

21st Annual Pumpkin Patch News
The following dates are set up for pumpkin patch grounds clean up, set up, taken down, and pumpkin delivery. Mark your calendars. There is also a printed hard copy sign-up to work the patch and t-shirt request in a binder at the welcome table/children check-in. T-shirt orders need to be ordered by September 1.
